COYOTE HAMBRIENTO is a down-to-earth taco restaurant nestled in the heart of Coyoacán, a neighborhood known for its vibrant streets and rich cultural vibe. It delivers a straightforward, hearty Mexican dining experience where tacos take center stage, alongside other classic plates like molcajetes and chilaquiles with birria. The menu leans on traditional flavors with items like Taco de Pastor, Tacos de Asada con Guacamole, and Birria Mexicana, making it a spot that locals and visitors alike turn to for satisfying meals without fuss.

The atmosphere here is casual and a bit bustling but comfortably lived-in, reflecting the neighborhood’s easygoing flavor. It’s the kind of place where you can drop in hungry, order a few tacos or a combo like the Torta Campechano, and get a solid filling meal without breaking the bank. Crowds tend to come with an appetite, whether for a mid-day break or a relaxed dinner, though service can sometimes feel a bit slow when the place isn’t very busy, which suggests the kitchen focuses on quality over speed.

Those who enjoy sharing good plates with friends will find the portions generous, especially dishes like the cheese fundidos topped with chorizo or pastor, which add a comforting, indulgent touch to the taco-centered offerings. The drink menu includes approachable classics such as micheladas and margaritas, complementing the meal and echoing the festive spirit of Coyoacán’s street-side eateries. Locals appreciate the balance of flavors—especially the well-seasoned asada tacos piled high with fresh guacamole—and the reasonable prices given the portion sizes.

If your day in Coyoacán calls for casual dining with bold Mexican flavors in a laid-back setting, COYOTE HAMBRIENTO is a fitting stop. It suits those who come hungry, enjoy a relaxed environment, and want to experience tacos that stay true to local standards. Visiting during quieter hours may make for a more leisurely pace, allowing you to savor the food and soak in the neighborhood rhythm without the midday crowd.

Delicious food. Burrito the best. If you’ve never tried alambres. You should. Delicious with Oaxacacheese. Better than mozzarella!!! Recommend to eat here. With an empty stomach also. Plates are big

Very nice place for a good meal. TJ style tacos were excellent- lots of guacamole and the Asada was seasoned very well. Tacos Al Pastor were also very good. The papa con arranchera was good, but not sire if it was worth the price, I would skip that next time and just stick with the tacos. Service was good, but a little slow considering it was only me and a couple at a second table. The atmosphere was very nice and the music was great. They also have an outside patio area, but it was a little chilly, so I decided to eat inside. They do have deserts and coffee, but I was too stuffed to even think about trying them. The couple at the table across from me had the fresa con crema and it looked amazing. Maybe next time I'll try it.

Really like this place. Sat outside which was quiet and had a great feel. The food was quick, cheap and really good. Large menu. I had the carnitas and it was $22 pesos. For 5 of us to eat and drink it came to less than £20.
